Terms of Use

Effective

These terms cover the IronLog iPhone app and this website, ironlog.parra.io (together, the "Service"), provided by Parra ("we", "us"). By downloading or using the Service you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Apple's standard license agreement

The IronLog app is licensed to you, not sold, under Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the "Standard EULA"), which is part of these terms. These terms add to the Standard EULA. If the two conflict about the app, the Standard EULA controls. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it.

2. What IronLog is, and is not

IronLog is a record-keeping tool for your own equipment. It stores the maintenance records you enter and calculates when tasks are due from the intervals you set.

  • It is not a substitute for the manufacturer's instructions. The maintenance tasks and intervals IronLog suggests are general starting points, not specifications for your machine. Always follow your equipment's operator's manual, the manufacturer's service schedule and safety procedures, and the advice of a qualified mechanic.
  • Reminders can fail. Notifications depend on your iPhone's settings, its storage and the dates and hours you enter. Do not rely on IronLog as your only way of knowing when service, inspections or renewals are due.
  • Records are yours, and unverified. Service history PDFs show what you entered. They are not an inspection, an appraisal, a certification or a warranty record, and we do not verify them. You are responsible for the accuracy of anything you share with a buyer, lender, insurer or anyone else.

3. Your data and backups

Your records are stored on your iPhone and are not synced to any server by IronLog. We cannot recover them if they are lost. Keeping backups, for example with Export data in the app's Settings, is your responsibility. How we handle the little information we do receive is described in the privacy policy.

4. Subscriptions and billing

Using IronLog requires an IronLog Pro subscription, sold by Apple as an auto-renewable in-app purchase. In the United States it is $19.99 per year or $2.99 per month. Prices in other countries are set by the App Store and shown before you confirm. Subscription length and price are shown on the purchase screen before you buy.

  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID account when you confirm the purchase.
  • The subscription renews automatically for the same period and price unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within the 24 hours before the current period ends.
  • You can manage or cancel the subscription in your Apple ID account settings (on iPhone: Settings, your name, Subscriptions). See Apple's guide to cancelling a subscription. Deleting the app does not cancel it.
  • Apple processes all payments and refunds, under Apple's terms. We cannot issue refunds. To ask for one, see Apple's refund guide.

If we change the price, Apple notifies subscribers as its rules require, and you can cancel before the new price applies.

5. No affiliation with equipment makers

IronLog is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any equipment manufacturer, dealer or parts supplier. Brand, model and part names that you enter, or that appear as examples, belong to their owners and are used only to identify equipment.

6. Acceptable use

Do not misuse the Service: do not reverse engineer it except where the law allows, interfere with it, try to gain unauthorized access to it, send spam or abuse through the contact form, or use it in a way that breaks the law.

7. Feedback

If you send ideas or suggestions, we may use them to improve IronLog without any obligation to you.

8. Intellectual property

The Service, including its design, text, graphics, code and the IronLog name and logo, belongs to Parra and is protected by intellectual property laws. The records you create are yours.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, that reminders will be delivered, or that any due date, hour calculation, total or report will be accurate or complete.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Parra will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, equipment value, use of equipment or goodwill, arising from or related to the Service, including missed or late maintenance, equipment damage or failure, downtime, or decisions made on the basis of records or reports in the Service. Our total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for IronLog in the 12 months before the claim or US$50. Some jurisdictions do not allow these exclusions or limits, so they apply to you only as far as the law allows. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Parra against claims, losses and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your misuse of the Service or your breach of these terms.

12. Ending use

You can stop using the Service at any time by deleting the app and cancelling your subscription. We may suspend access to the website or the contact form for anyone who misuses them. Sections 2, 3 and 5 to 14 continue to apply after you stop using the Service.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as IronLog changes. We will update the effective date above and describe material changes on this page before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the updated terms.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, except where the law of the country you live in requires otherwise. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, unless the law of your country gives you the right to bring them elsewhere.
